Despite conservatism and a general aversion to risk, big money center banks are starting to adopt agile techniques to their software development efforts. The American Banker, a daily trade newspaper and website covering the financial services industry, has identified two of the leaders as JP Morgan Chase, the largest bank in the US by assets and BBVA Compass, the second largest bank in Spain. Why banks that enormous would embrace agile is an interesting story.
It’s been a while since the last Bitbar UI Update blog. For the first time in a few years, I got the flu and spread me completely on the shoulders. Fortunately, I’m on my feet and decided to write a different post today. I looked at our repository and realized that it’s been a year since the introduction of Vue.js to our Bitbar Cloud UI design. This is definitely a great opportunity to look at what we have achieved with the new UI framework in the past year, what lessons we have learned and ask ourselves: Was it worth it?
Today many mobile teams almost always work with testing, staging and integration environments residing inside the company network. These environments are not exposed to the Internet, which sometimes makes it difficult to use any of popular cloud-based testing solutions and services from the information security point of view.
2017 was another exciting year for Bitbar. We introduced powerful new features and teamed up with new partners to strengthen our mobile DevOps platform. ‘Speed’ is the single word to be used to wrap up the achievements for the year. We want to take this opportunity to have an annual review.
At Bitbar, we truly believe that test automation scales up the mobile device testing efficiency and helps teams to maximize device coverage and improve confidence when it comes to keeping up your app release frequency. But it doesn’t really negate the need for manual testing, as it is a good way to reproduce real-world scenarios and troubleshoot special issues on specific devices.
By understanding our users’ use cases for manual testing, we decided to revamp the remote device control service and now we are excited to introduce a more powerful service for Android and iOS manual testing at Bitbar Cloud.
It’s almost 9am in Poland right now. Sun is shining thru cold (almost) winter wind. We are excited to roll out some great new features to welcome the holiday and new year. Well, let’s grab a cup of good coffee and check out what’s new in the latest two versions. Shall we?
Today’s guest is Tobias Doll, Test Automation Engineer in the Mobile Development Department of Deutsche Welle (DW). DW is a German public international broadcaster with goals to convey Germany as a “liberal, democratic state based on the rule of law”, to produce reliable news coverage and to provide access to the German language.
With rich experience in mobile QA, Tobias is excited to share some insights on how to explore the possibilities of Espresso and how to fully leverage the power of Gherkin with Espresso for Android test automation. If you want to move on from Calabash and look for a new way to handle your Android app testing, this article is for you. Read on.
When everything is firing on all cylinders, DevOps can be awesome. By automating every application build – from development and QA, to pre-release testing and eventually to production – DevOps lets you release new code as frequently as your business needs to instead of continuously delayed releases. This, in turn, enables you to resolve issues and make important improvements with lightning speed, keeping you agile and helping you meet customer needs (and expectations) as well as respond to new challenges in a competitive landscape.
Mobile shopping is booming year over year. According to Adobe’s forecast, it’s predicted to see more traffic from smartphones and tablets than from desktops for the first time in this holiday shopping season. Similarly, one study from YouAppi found that 85% of shoppers will use a mobile app for holiday shopping in 2017. It’s clear that mobile has become a key touchpoint in today’s customer journey.
Despite seeing the importance of mobile, the majority of retailers are still facing challenges to reap the solid returns from mobile channels in the coming holiday shopping season.
